சித்தர்காடு ....2

நான்கு  ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் இப்பகுதியில் சித்தர்காடு பற்றி எழுதியிருந்தேன். இப்போதுதான் 21-1-16 அன்று  மாயூரம் செல்லும்போது 
சித்தர்காடு கோவிலுக்கு மறுபடி செல்லும் வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது. கோவில் கும்பாபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டு மிகவும் சிறப்பாக இருக்கின்றது. தூய்மை, அமைதி மற்றும் ஆற்றல் களம் சிறப்பாக இருக்கின்றது.

மாயூரம் ரயில்வே சந்திப்பு அருகே உள்ள இக்கோவிலுக்கு எளிதில் செல்லலாம்.

பொங்கல்  நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள்..!

போகி பண்டிகை

பொங்கல் திருநாளின் முதல்நாள் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இதுநாள் பழையன கழித்து, புதியன புகவிடும் நாளாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. பழையவற்றையும், உபயோகமற்றவையும் விட்டெறியும் நாளாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. பழந்துயரங்களை அழிப்பதான இப்பண்டிகையைப் “போக்கி” என்றனர். அந்தச் சொல் நாளடைவில் மருவி “போகி” என்றாகிவிட்டது. அன்றைய தினம், வீட்டில் தேங்கிப் போயிருக்கும் குப்பைகள் தேவையற்ற பொருட்களை அப்புறப்படுத்தப்பட்டு வீடு சுத்தமாக்கப்படும். வீடு மட்டுமல்ல மனதில் இருக்கும் தீய எண்ணங்களும், தவறான எண்ணங்களும் நீக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்பது இதில் உள்ள தத்துவமாகும். இதையொட்டியே பொங்கலுக்கு முன் வீட்டிற்கு புது வர்ணம் பூசி வீட்டை அழகுபடுத்துகிறார்கள். பொங்கல் சமயத்தில் வீடு புதுப் பொலிவுடன் காணப்படும். இல்லம் தோறும் போகி அன்று, வைகறையில் “நிலைப் பொங்கல்” நிகழ்வுறும். வீட்டின் முன் வாயில் நிலைக்குப் மஞ்சள் பூசி, திலகமிட்டு, தோகை விரிந்த கரும்பொன்றைச் சாத்தி நிற்கச் செய்து வாழைப்பழம், வெற்றிலை, பாக்கு, குங்குமம் வைத்து, தேங்காய் உடைத்து, கற்பூரம் காட்டி இல்லுறை தெய்வத்தை வணங்குவர்.

அதிகாலை எழுவதால் 5 பயன்கள் 

இயற்கையோடு இணைந்து வாழ்ந்த நம் முன்னோர், சூரிய உதயத்தின்போது எழுந்திருப்பதும், சூரியன் மறைந்த பின் படுக்கைக்குச் செல்வதும் வழக்கமாகக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். ஆனால், இரவையும் பகலாக்கும் இன்றைய நவீன வாழ்க்கை முறையில், தூக்கம் தொலைத்து அவதிப்படுகிறோம். அதிகாலை கண் விழிப்பதும், இரவு சீக்கிரமே படுக்கைக்குச் செல்வதும்தான் சிறந்தது. நாம், காலங்காலமாக இந்த இயற்கை நியதியைப் பின்பற்றிவந்ததால்தான், முன்பு நமக்கு தொற்றுநோய்த் தாக்குதல்களைத் தவிர, மன அழுத்தம், ரத்த அழுத்தம் போன்ற நோய்கள் பெரிய அளவில் இல்லாமல் இருந்தன. இன்று, இரவில் நீண்ட நேரம் விழிப்பதும் பகலில் நெடுநேரம் கழித்து எழுவதும் சகஜமாகிவிட்டதால், நம் மூளையில் இருக்கும் மன சுழற்சிக் கடிகாரம் (Circadian rhythms) இயற்கையின் விதிகளுக்குப் புறம்பாக மாறிவிட்டது. அதிகாலை எழுவதால் ஏற்படும் பலன்களைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டால், நாமும் இயற்கையோடு இணைந்து ஏராளமான நன்மைகளைப் பெற முடியும். 

மூளை நரம்பு இயக்கங்கள் சீராகச் செயல்படும். மூளை சுறுசுறுப்பாக இயங்கும். இதனால், தன்னம்பிக்கையும் உற்சாகமும் அதிகரிக்கும்.

மன அழுத்தம் குறையும். அன்றைய நாளில் என்னென்ன வேலைகள் இருக்கின்றன? அவற்றில் எதனை, எப்போது, எங்கே, எப்படி முடிப்பது என எளிதாகத் திட்டமிட முடியும்.

உடற்பயிற்சி செய்ய நேரம் ஒதுக்க முடியும். காலை நேரத்தில் உடற்பயிற்சி செய்யும்போது, அதிக ஈடுபாட்டுடன் சிறப்பாகச் செய்ய முடியும். அதிகாலை எழுவதால், காலை வேளையில் பசி எடுக்கும். காலையில் சாப்பிடுவதால், உடல் பருமன், சர்க்கரைநோய் வருவது குறையும். மேலும், இரவு 9-10 மணிக்குள் உறக்கம் தானாக வர ஆரம்பிக்கும். இரவு சரியான நேரத்துக்குத் தூக்கம் வருவதால், மன அழுத்தம், ரத்த அழுத்தம் வராது. வளர்சிதை மாற்றம் சீராக இருக்கும்.

காலையில் மாசற்ற தூய்மையான ஆக்சிஜனைச் சுவாசித்தால், நுரையீரல் வலுவடையும். ஆஸ்துமா, சைனஸ் போன்ற பிரச்னைகள் வராது. அதிகாலை 4.30 - 5.30 மணிக்குள் மூச்சுப் பயிற்சி, யோகா செய்வது,  உடலில் உள்ள அனைத்து உறுப்புகளுக்கும் நலம் பயக்கும்.

அதிகாலை எழுவதால் சரியான நேரத்தில் மலம், சிறுநீர் கழிந்து, உடலில் உள்ள நச்சுக்கள் வெளியேற உதவும். நச்சுக்கள் சீராக வெளியேறுவதால் சிறுநீர், கல்லீரல், பெருங்குடல் போன்ற உறுப்புகள் சீராக இயங்கும். உடல் நலனுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல. மன நலனுக்கும் அதிகாலையில் எழுவது சிறந்தது.

I have admired and respected 'madiba' for many years - for his "immense generosity, graciousness and nobility of spirit")...and am sharing an additional thought or two...

Creating Opportunity

An enterprising person is one who comes across a pile of scrap metal and sees the making of a wonderful sculpture. An enterprising person is one who drives through an old decrepit part of town and sees a new housing development. An enterprising person is one who sees opportunity in all areas of life. 

To be enterprising is to keep your eyes open and your mind active. It's to be skilled enough, confident enough, creative enough and disciplined enough to seize opportunities that present themselves... regardless of the economy. 

A person with an enterprising attitude says, "Find out what you can before action is taken." Do your homework. Do the research. Be prepared. Be resourceful. Do all you can in preparation of what's to come. 

Enterprising people always see the future in the present. Enterprising people always find a way to take advantage of a situation, not be burdened by it. And enterprising people aren't lazy. They don't wait for opportunities to come to them, they go after the opportunities. Enterprise means always finding a way to keep yourself actively working toward your ambition. 

Enterprise is two things. The first is creativity. You need creativity to see what's out there and to shape it to your advantage. You need creativity to look at the world a little differently. You need creativity to take a different approach, to be different. 

What goes hand-in-hand with the creativity of enterprise is the second requirement: the courage to be creative.
