HOW TO LIVE 365 DAYS A YEAR

CHALLENGES ....1

Good News....

STORY WITH MORAL ...27

DON'T CHANGE THE WORLD

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country. When he was back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather. Definitely, this would need thousands of cows' skin, and would cost a huge amount of money.

Then one of his wise servant dared himself to tell the king, "Why do you have to spend that unnecessary amount of money? Why don't you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet?"

The king was surprised, but he later agreed to his suggestion, to make a "shoe" for himself.

There is actually a valuable lesson of life in this story: to make this world a happy place to live, you better change yourself - your heart; and not the world . . .

RELAX ...2

Relaxation

The art of relaxation does not lie in any physical exercises or postures (positions) but in the posture (position) of our minds.

Essentially there are five qualities of thoughts, which we can create:

Necessary thoughts, such as, "I must not forget to go to the market today", or "I have to pick up the children from school at 4 pm."

Waste thoughts, which include thinking too much about the past, worrying about things that might not happen (future), and thoughts about others, which we commonly call gossip.

Negative thoughts, which include feelings of anger, fear, ego, greed, doubt, sadness, regret and unease. Negative thoughts make us lazy and drain our energy.

Positive thoughts, which are affirmative (strong) and focused, carrying only the best feelings for ourselves and for others.

Soul-conscious thoughts arise from the truth of who and what we are, and require the effort of remembering and gently reminding ourselves that we are eternal souls (“aatmas”) and our real nature is peaceful and loving. When we restore our awareness of the self as a soul, it allows us to clearly see and release (clear up) any negative or waste thoughts and it helps us experience true relaxation of the mind.

CONTEMPLATION...1

Here is the poem to contemplate on the year past and the one to come

Time of Your Life

Do you reflect upon the years gone by
as you prepare for yet one more,
with promises and resolutions
that you have made before?

Do memories of people and places
once as sharp as any knife
now blend in bits and pieces
in a kaleidoscope of life?

Do you squander precious minutes
seeking reasons why you're here,
contemplating your life's purpose
year after passing year?

Persuade yourself to understand,
it matters not the reason.
Your purpose is to seize the life
in every passing season!

Learn to see things differently.
Let your thoughts and actions change.
Allow your views of past and present
to slowly rearrange.

Let your spirit start anew;
become focused and aware
of the moments and the blessings
that surround you everywhere!

Do not permit past memories:
the where…the who…the how
to become more important
than the ones you’re making now.

Live life in person;
inhabit every day.
You may not like where you are now,
but you’re there anyway!

A lifetime is a puzzle,
every failure, each success
adds another jagged piece
to fit together with the rest.

To finish the picture
and view the masterpiece whole,
fill the time of your life
with your heart and your soul.

Acquaint yourself with your feelings
and heighten your senses.
Experience living.
Put down your defenses.

You don't have to know why
you are you, and I’m me.
Believe it is what it is
and it’s how it should be.

You did not choose your date of birth,
nor do you know your last,
so live this gift that is your present,
before it becomes your past.

PERSEVERANCE ...2

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.                   -Dale Carnegie

Perseverance is one of the key qualities that you need to reach success. Really, perseverance is a great tool to use, which doesn’t require neither college education nor training of any kind.

Persistence almost always leads to success. No matter what area your goals have to do with, but if you persevere, you will succeed.

In fact, your persistence has helped you learn to walk, to talk, to write. And you have succeeded in this.

You may be active, but it doesn’t mean that you move forward. If you don’t move forward, you will not achieve success.

Remember when you learned to ride a bike. Most of us made many attempts to obtain the skills of riding a bicycle, but we showed perseverance, which led us to success, and we learned to ride a bike.

The key means to develop perseverance is doing small steps, resulting in small achievement. Small achievements form a big success. Think about creating a puzzle: you add part by part and finally get the final image.

Persistence usually means learning something new in order to achieve the main goal. Always invest in your knowledge as it will assist you in moving forward and exploring new areas to succeed.

The way to success can’t be without failures. The most important thing is to learn from these failures and to continue moving forward. Do not give up. Take the necessary lesson, and move on toward success.

The key to success in any field is to continue making efforts to achieve your goal even if you haven’t managed to do it from the first time.

WEEKEND WISDOM

DESTINY ..3

How attitude can change the Destiny

During a momentous battle, a Japanese general decided to attack even though his army was greatly outnumbered. He was confident they would win, but his men were filled with doubt.

On the way to the battle, they stopped at a religious shrine. After praying with the men, the general took out a coin and said, "I shall now toss this coin. If it is heads, we shall win. If it is tails we shall lose."

"Destiny will now reveal itself."

He threw the coin into the air and all watched intently as it landed. It was heads. The soldiers were so overjoyed and filled with confidence that they vigorously attacked the enemy and were victorious.

After the battle. a lieutenant remarked to the general, "No one can change destiny."

"Quite right," the general replied as he showed the lieutenant the coin, which had heads on both sides.

MONEY ...2

6   PRINCIPLES OF LIFE ON MONEY

Money is everything; that no one will deny though some will disagree. But money could be nothing, or at least become meaningless, to a person if he or she observes the following 6 Principles of Life on Money.

1. No point using limited life to chase unlimited money.

2. No point earning so much money you cannot live to spend it.

3. Money is not yours until you spend it.

4. When you are young, you use your health to chase your wealth; when you are old, you use your wealth to buy back your health.

5. How happy a man is, is not how much he has but how little he needs.

6. No point working so hard to provide for the people you have no time to spend with. What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.

STORY WITH MORAL ...26

Do What ur heart says....

Horror gripped the heart of a World War-I soldier, as he saw his lifelong friend fall in battle. The soldier asked his Lieutenant if he could go out to bring his fallen comrade back. "You can go," said the Lieutenant, "but don't think it will be worth it. Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your life away."

The Lieutenant's words didn't matter, and the soldier went anyway. Miraculously, he managed to reach his friend, hoisted him onto his shoulder and brought him back to their company's trench. The officer checked the wounded soldier , then looked kindly at his friend.

" I told you it wouldn't be worth it," he said. "Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded." " It was worth it, Sir," said the soldier. "What do you mean by worth it?" responded the Lieutenant. " Your friend is dead." "Yes Sir," the soldier answered, " but it was worth it because when I got to him, he was still alive and I had the satisfaction of hearing him say..        " Jim...I knew you'd come."

Many times in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not, really depends on how u look at it. Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret not doing it later in your life........

Hell Story

An Indian dies and goes to hell. There he finds that there is a
different hell for each country.

He goes to the German hell and asks, "What do they do here?"He is told, "First they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the German devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day."

The man does not like the sound of that at all, so he moves on.

He checks out the USA hell as well as the Russian hell and many more. He discovers that they are all more or less the same as the German hell.

Then he comes to the Indian hell and finds that there is a long line of people waiting to get in. Amazed, he asks, "What do they do here?"

He is told, "First they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the Indian devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day."

"But that is exactly the same as all the other hells - why are there so many people waiting to get in?"

"Because maintenance is so bad that the electric chair does not work, someone has stolen all the nails from the bed, and the devil is a former Govt servant, so he comes in, signs the register and then goes to the canteen..."

MONEY ...1

I met money one day. I said, "You are just a piece of paper." Money smiled and said, "Of course I’m a piece of paper, but I haven’t seen a dustbin yet, in my life".

PAPER  ART

Canadian artist Calvin Nicholls creates the following amazingly beautiful sculptures using sheets of paper. “Calvin has been creating his paper sculptures since 1986 from his studio north of Toronto Ontario, Canada. Working with sheets of paper and a scalpel, he cuts the component pieces to fit the final drawing and assembles the low relief artwork under studio lighting. When the sculpture is complete the lighting is adjusted to bring out the subtle form and texture.
