"கோச்"(சடையன்) சுந்து பசங்களுக்கு வானியல் சொல்லித்தரது ரொம்ப பெருமையா இருக்கு..இந்த விஷயத்துல எனது மலரும் நினைவுகள்....
சின்ன வயசுல ஒரு நா நடுராத்திரி அம்மா என்னை எழுப்பி முற்றத்துக்கு அழைச்சுக்கிட்டுப் போயி வானத்துலே வால் நட்சத்திரம் காமிச்சாங்க..ஒரு விளக்கமாறு போல, டார்ச் லைட் அடிச்சா ஒரு பீம் வருமே அது போல இருந்துச்சு.. அப்புறம் அம்மா சுவாதி நட்சத்திரம் காமிச்சாங்க..ஒரு கணக்கு போட்டு இப்ப நேரம் மூணேகால்ன்னு சொன்னாங்க... கரெக்டா இருந்துச்சு..நட்சத்திரங்களோட பொசிசனை வச்சு நேரம் கண்டுபுடிக்கறது, திசை பாக்குறது எல்லாம் அம்மா கத்துக் கொடுத்தாங்க.. ஆச்சரியமா கேட்டுகிட்டேன்.. அவங்களுக்கு அவங்க தாத்தா கத்துக் கொடுத்தாங்களாம்.. அதோட திரிசங்கு சுவர்க்கம், துருவ நட்சத்திரம், சப்தரிஷி மண்டலமெல்லாம் எல்லாம் காட்டி அதோட புராண கதையெல்லாம் சொன்னாங்க.. இதெல்லாம் வானசாஸ்த்ரத்துல ஆர்வத்தை உண்டாக்கிடுச்சு..
ராமாயணத்துல அனுமன் பர்வத மலையத் தேடிகிட்டு விண்வெளியுலே பறக்கும்போது அவன் பார்த்த காட்சிகளை இப்போ Hubble telescope மூலம் பார்த்ததை ஒப்பிட்டு பார்க்கும்போது நம் முன்னோர்களின் அறிவாற்றலை, கண்டுபிடுப்புகளை வியக்காம இருக்க முடியாது..
ஸ்கூல்ல படிக்கும்போது ரஷ்யா, அமெரிக்கா ரெண்டும் போட்டிபோட்டுக்கிட்டு ஸ்புட்னிக், சாட்லைட் என விண்வெளியில் அனுப்பிய காலகட்டம். முதன்முதலில் விண்ணுக்கு ஆணையும், பெண்ணையும் அனுப்பி ரஷ்யா முதலிடத்தில் இருந்தது. அப்ப எனக்கு "பொழுதுபோக்கு வானவியல் " என்ற புக் கிடைச்சு நெறைய பேசிக்ஸ் கத்துக்கிட்டேன்.
ராமாயணம், மகாபாரதம் ரெண்டுலேயும் வானியல் உண்மைகளை கதைகளா சொல்லியிருப்பாங்க.. காலேஜ்ல சேந்தப்ப Erich Von Daniken எழுதின ரெண்டு புக் படிச்சேன்..Chariots of Gods புக் ஒரு மலைப்பை உண்டாக்கிடுச்சு.. Space Odyssey 2001 ன்னு ஒரு படம் 1969 ல பாத்தேன்.. ..அதே வருஷம் நிலாவுல மனுஷன் முதல்லே கால் வைச்சதை சிலோன் ரேடியோவுல ரன்னிங் கமென்றியாக் கேட்டப்ப உடம்பெல்லாம் புல்லரிச்சுப்போச்சு!
ஒரு டெலஸ்கோப் வாங்கணும்னு ஆசை வந்துச்சு.. BHEL ல்ல சேந்த பிறகு டெலஸ்கோப் சின்னதா வாங்கி முதல்முதலா சனி வலையங்களப் பாத்தேன்..அப்புறம் அந்த டெலஸ்கோப் வேற விசயங்களுக்காக பலருக்கு பிசியாகப் பயன்பட்டது..!
மகரிஷிக்கிட்ட வந்தப்புறம் அவரு ஒரு Great Cosmologist ன்னு தெரிஞ்சுக்கிட்டேன்..வான் காந்தத் தத்துவத்தின் மூலம் பல பல உண்மைகள் ஈசியாப் புரிஞ்சிச்சு... ராகுகாலம் பத்தி நான் எழுதின விஞ்ஞான ஆராய்ச்சிக் கட்டுரைக்கு நல்ல வரவேற்பு..
இன்னும் நெறைய ஆராய்ச்சிகள் மனசுல இருக்கு..

DeleteJust remembered on how to predict the time seeing the stars. In tamil calendar every month's full moon is associated with a star.So we need to take that as our base star.
ReplyDeleteFor example in Thai maasam , Poosam is the base star, if poosam is directly above the head its midnight 12. 45 degrees east its 9pm 45 degrees west its 3am.
Given appayee predicted the time using Swathi at which is in Thulam(Libra) raasi,sun should have been in Mesha(Aries) raasi.So they would have seen the comet during Chitirai(April) maasam.

Ha JP, Thanks a lot for writing this about Appayee. Wish she is here now. I would have shown her Saturn, Jupiter and Arundhathi :)) Looks like we have the "Astronomy genes" from Appayee.

JP's friend got a simple tripod telescope from USA. I was in high school. JP, of course had shown me which one is Saturn. One night, I stayed late and caught Saturn in that telescope and of course, I was blown away by Saturn's rings (which was more like a line across Saturn at that time). Next day, I very quietly told ThaTha that I saw Saturn's rings. I thought he would yell at me for looking at சனி பகவான்!! To my surprise, he yelled at me for not waking him up and showing him Saturn, which I did the next night.
I also remember Moon landing which had a tremendous impact on me when I was in 3rd grade. That is teh first time we got a transistor radio in the house :)
If you all read, 'Outliers" by Malcom Gladwell, he explains why Asians in rice growing countries (India, Japan, Korea) are good in Maths. The reason is: When to plant the rice seeds, when to water it and when to harvest was all tracked by our Ancestors using positions of Stars. It is passed by generation to generation and it is very complex. Now, I know Malcom Gladwell is exactly right :))
I remember the "பொழுதுபோக்கு வானவியல்" book. It was bought at Mayuram Bus Stand at the Annual Soviet Book Show for Rs. 1 :)
BTW, after JP's marriage, Kumar (Charlotte) swiped the telescope from JP and used it for "other terrestrial" purposes. Need to ask Kumar for the details :))
