DETOX YOUR MIND

12 Simple Ways To Detox Your Mind

1. Practice mindfulness:

Take time each day to be present in the moment and observe your thoughts without judgment. Focus on what happens inside your body or pay special attention to the world surrounding you. Relax into it completely. Notice without reacting. Both work wonders for mental clarity, focus, and relieve pain, stress, and anxiety. Develop your inner witness.

2. Don't consume negative news and media:

If you consume too much negative news or media you increase anxiety and stress, with no immediate benefit for the world or yourself. Be mindful of what you're exposing yourself to. Don't cut yourself off from the world. Learn to listen to yourself.

3. Disconnect from technology:

Invest time to unplug from technologies and engage in activities that satisfy you. Notice when you're doing (digital) multitasking: when your phone distracts you from what is happening. Have technology-free zones and times in your life.

4. Do something good:

You prime yourself for positivity, kindness, and optimism when you do something nice for a loved one, a friend, or even a stranger: give a compliment or help with a request. Keep your eyes open and be mindful. It could mean the world. No act of service, however small, is lost.

5. Set boundaries:

Learn to say no and set healthy boundaries to find inner peace and prevent burnout. Prioritize and respect your own needs.

You will find other people will follow. To learn your limitations, develop a sense of awareness within. Feel what you are OK with and what exceeds your capabilities. Spend time in silence to calibrate this side of you.

6. Get quality sleep:

Lack of sleep can negatively impact your attention, emotional life, and stress tolerance. Prioritize your sleep and sleep hygiene. Quality sleep will dramatically improve your life. Before going to sleep, do relaxation work.

7. Practice breathing and relaxation:

Incorporate deep breathing and relaxation techniques into your daily routine to reduce stress and become calm. After a stressful situation or a focused work session, sit or lie down. Take a few deep breaths with a focus on the exhale while you imagine a calm scene in your mind. Let go of control.

8. Challenge and feel your body:

Physical activity will reduce stress and improve your mood. You will especially benefit from endurance work. Aim for one HIIT workout a week to challenge your body. At the same time tune into your body, emotionally and spiritually. Get to know how and where it feels. Notice your sensations.

9. Forgive the past:

When you hold onto grudges and negative feelings you create mental clutter. Forgive yourself for old mistakes and let go of resentments. Open yourself up to the wonders of the present, instead of clinging to a past that is long gone. If you manage to accept your past, you don't add new harm to your present.

10. Laugh:

Laughter has mental and physical health benefits. It is simple, free, and will spread positivity. Life without laughter is like walking with closed eyes. You may make it, but you miss the fun of it. Life is not meant to be a serious struggle.

11. Write it down:

Journalling is a way to create distance between yourself and your thoughts. Make room each day to put painful, happy, and stressful thoughts on your paper. This frees you from the energy they create within you to pursue and notice what happens in the present

12. Visualise Serenity:

Visualise positive outcomes and focus on the good things that can happen in your life. Create a room in your mind that embodies everything that calms you. An easy chair, a serene view. Return to this room every day for at least 5 minutes.
