How come we haven't yet found life in our Galaxy?

It is a mystery, isn’t it? You’d think the universe would be teaming with life all over the place. What’s surprising, but true, is we’ve yet to find even an alien microbe.

As to why, well there’s a whole bunch of scientists in different fields trying to figure that out. If you’re looking for a career, that would be a useful thing to look into. A university is a great starting place.

On Earth, wherever there’s liquid water we find life. We suspect, without evidence at this point, similar conditions on other planets and exoplanets might also support life. There’s a few places in our own solar system where there might be liquid water under frozen ice, such as Ganymede and Europa. Future exploration to those moons would be helpful.

Rocket propulsion might be another interesting field to look into.

Mars once had liquid water. We’re presently using the Perseverance Rover searching for signs of extinct alien microbes on that planet.
