HOW MUCH WATER PER DAY

Staying properly hydrated is essential for good health. The amount of water you should consume daily depends on various factors like age, gender, weight, and activity level. As a general guideline, adults should aim for at least 8 cups (64 ounces) of water per day, but your specific needs might vary.

Age: Your ability to retain water decreases as you get older. This means that older adults may need to drink more water to stay hydrated.

Gender: Typically, men need more water than women because they have a higher percentage of body water.

Weight: Heavier individuals generally require more water than those who weigh less because there's more body mass to hydrate.

Activity Level: If you're physically active, you'll need to drink more water to replace fluids lost through sweating.

In addition to water, you can get fluids from sources like fruits, vegetables, and soups. However, remember that sugary drinks such as soda and juice can dehydrate you, so it's best to primarily rely on water for hydration.

To ensure you're consuming enough water, consider carrying a reusable water bottle with you during the day. This can help you keep track of your water intake and make staying hydrated while on the move more convenient. Additionally, setting reminders on your phone or computer can prompt you to drink water at regular intervals.
