GARUDA

Garuda is a legendary bird creature in Hindu mythology and is known as the king of birds. He is depicted as a divine eagle or a half-man, half-bird creature. Garuda is closely associated with Lord Vishnu and is his mount or vehicle.

In the Ramayana, Garuda plays a significant role in freeing Rama and Lakshmana from the Nagapasha, a powerful serpent weapon used by the demon king Ravana's son, Indrajit (also known as Meghanada).

During the great war between Rama and Ravana, Indrajit employed the Nagapasha, a mystical and invincible weapon made of serpents, to bind Rama and Lakshmana. The Nagapasha was a potent magical snare that immobilized the two brothers, rendering them helpless.

Upon witnessing Rama and Lakshmana being ensnared, Garuda appeared at the scene. As the divine vehicle of Lord Vishnu, Garuda possessed immense power and a strong bond with Lord Rama. Garuda approached Rama and requested his permission to intervene and free them from the Nagapasha.

Rama granted Garuda permission, and the powerful bird swiftly tore apart the Nagapasha with his claws, breaking its hold over Rama and Lakshmana. Through Garuda's intervention, Rama and Lakshmana were liberated from the serpent weapon and regained their freedom to continue the battle against Ravana.

Garuda's intervention in freeing Rama and Lakshmana showcases his loyalty to Lord Vishnu and his role as a powerful celestial being capable of overcoming obstacles and protecting the divine incarnations.
