FRUITS THAT INCREASE TOILET FREQUENCY

Certain fruits contain dietary fiber, which can contribute to increased stool frequency and improved bowel movements due to their laxative effects.

Here are some fruits known for their fiber content and potential to promote regular bowel movements:

  1. Prunes: Prunes, or dried plums, are well-known for their natural laxative effect due to their high content of sorbitol and fiber, particularly insoluble fiber (Attaluri et al., 2011).
  2. Apples: Apples contain both soluble and insoluble fiber, particularly pectin, which can aid in bowel regularity and promote healthy digestion (Mandalari et al., 2014).
  3. Pears: Pears are rich in dietary fiber, especially insoluble fiber like cellulose, which contributes to improved bowel movements and relief from constipation (Hong et al., 2016).
  4. Figs: Figs are a good source of dietary fiber and contain natural laxative compounds like cellulose and pectin, which can help alleviate constipation (Lattanzio et al., 2011).
  5. Prickly Pears (Cactus Fruit): Prickly pears contain soluble fiber, antioxidants, and other compounds that may aid in digestion and support bowel regularity (El-Mostafa et al., 2014).

These fruits contain different types of fiber, both soluble and insoluble, which can add bulk to stools, soften them, and improve their transit through the digestive system, resulting in increased stool frequency.

However, it's important to note that individual responses to foods can vary, and excessive consumption of high-fiber fruits may lead to stomach discomfort, gas, or bloating in some individuals. It's advisable to incorporate these fruits into a balanced diet to support overall digestive health.
