KUNDALINI

Kundalini activation is known as Shaktipat, the descent of grace, or ‘top down awakening’. Often this is given by another activated person, such as a guru or priest, and results in an exalted, temporary, experience, where one is filled with light, love and bliss.

Kundalini awakening usually happens some time after Shaktipat, and is when the Kundalini itself wakes, usually from somewhere at the base of the body - they say the sacrum, but mine woke from my thighs. This happens as an explosive event, where the body can shake, or jerk, there can be inner visions of snakes, lights flashing, and various other phenomena as the kundalini wakes out of dormancy.

Kundalini rising happens after Kundalini awakening, sometimes with spontaneous kriyas (body movements, or emotional catharsis). How it is experienced depends on which channels the Kundalini is rising through, but the process can last many years, and results in the kundalini psychosomatically clearing your conditioned imprints by opening blocked channels, known as nadis, allowing spiritual death and rebirth. Although described as ‘energetic’ these channels are not just energetic, but include all the physical channels of the body.
