WATER / DAY

Depending on the density of the substance being measured, kilogrammes (kg) are converted to litres (L). The mass per unit volume of a substance determines its density. Because different materials have varying densities, there is no one conversion formula for kilogrammes to litres. However, the density of water at standard atmospheric pressure and temperature is about 1 kilogramme per litre. Accordingly, 1 litre of water is comparable to 1 kilogramme of water. Keep in mind that water is the only substance to which this conversion applies. Based on their density, other compounds' conversion factors will vary.
