- Dark matter : Dark matter is composed of particles that do not absorb , reflect or emit light so they cannot be observed directly. dark matter produces an attractive force (Gravity) .
- Dark energy : Dark energy is the name given to the force believed to be making the universe larger. Dark energy produces a repulsive force.
- As such, dark matter would have been created in the Big Bang together with all other constituting elements of the universe as we see it today.
- Dark energy is caused by energy inherent to the fabric of space itself, and as the Universe expands, it's the energy density — the energy-per-unit-volume — that remains constant. As a result, a Universe filled with dark energy will see its expansion rate remain constant, rather than drop at all.
