CHARACTERS PRESENT IN BOTH RAMAYANA & MAHABHARATA

 

These are the five mythological characters present in both Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Hanuman Ji

Hanuman ji, who played a major role alongside Lord Rama in the Ramayana, finds mention in the Mahabharata as well. According to the Mahabharata, Hanuman ji met Mahabali Bhima in the forest during the Pandavas' exile. Although in some places it is also mentioned that both Bhima and Hanuman ji were brothers. Because both were sons of Pawan Dev.

Parshuram Ji

It is said about Parashurama that in the Ramayana, when Rama breaks Shiva's bow at Sita's Swayamvara, Parashurama gets angry in this Swayamvara. And in the Mahabharata, Parshuram becomes Bhishma's teacher and at one point he even has a fight with Bhishma. Thus the presence of Parshuram is visible in both Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Jambavant Ji

In the Ramayana, Jambavant was instrumental in the construction of the Ram Setu and accompanied Lord Rama in battle. And in the Mahabharata there is mention of the war between Jambavant and Shri Krishna. In which Jambavant after losing marries his daughter Jambavati to Shri Krishna.

Mayasur

In the Ramayana, Mayasur has been mentioned as Ravana's father-in-law i.e. Mandodari. Who was an astrologer and architect. While in the Mahabharata, Mayasur had built an assembly hall for Yudhishthira, which was known as Maya Sabha.

Maharishi Durvasa

In the Ramayana, Maharishi Durvasa was the prophet of King Dasaratha, who made many predictions for the Raghuvansh. On the other hand, in Mahabharata, Maharishi Durvasa with ten thousand disciples came to Draupadi's cottage to test her.
