SUDARSHANA CHAKRA

According to Hindu scriptures and various Puranic texts, the Sudarshana Chakra was given to Lord Krishna by Lord Vishnu, specifically during the divine appearance of Lord Krishna on Earth. Lord Vishnu, who is considered the preserver of the universe and one of the principal deities in Hinduism, is often depicted holding the Sudarshana Chakra in His hand.

The Sudarshana Chakra is a powerful and divine discus weapon known for its precision and ability to destroy obstacles and enemies. It is considered one of the divine weapons of Lord Vishnu and is closely associated with His role as the protector of dharma (righteousness) and the destroyer of evil forces.

In the context of the Mahabharata, one of the most famous stories involving the Sudarshana Chakra is when Lord Krishna used it to protect the Pandava prince Arjuna and to annihilate the powerful demon Shishupala during the Rajasuya Yagna (a royal consecration ceremony).

The Sudarshana Chakra is a symbol of divine protection and righteousness and is believed to be under the control of Lord Krishna, who wields it for the well-being and protection of the universe and its righteous inhabitants.
