LESSONS FROM THE BOOK " READ PEOPLE LIKE A BOOK "

  1. Eyes reveal what words often conceal
  2. We become great people-readers when we understand ourselves
  3. Reading people is about reading patterns of behaviour. Pay special attention to clues that are unusual for that person.
  4. The body speaks volumes even when the lips stay silent.
  5. To understand why people behave as they do, we need to examine the causes and drivers of that behaviour: their motivations.
  6. The pleasure principle asserts that the human mind does everything it can to seek out pleasure and avoid pain.
  7. Survival overrides everything. When our survival instinct gets activated, everything else in our psychological and emotional makeup turns off.
  8. Understanding gestures unveils the unspoken language of minds.
  9. A person insults you with is often nothing more than the label they can't acknowledge they actually give themselves. If you realize this, you can keep your cool in such a conversation. If not, you may get hooked into an argument.
