If a stone of one kilo falls on the earth, nothing will happen. Because as it will enter the earth's atmosphere, due to the friction of the atmosphere, it will end before reaching the surface of the earth.
Every year thousands of meteors enter the Earth's atmosphere but burn up due to friction before reaching the surface. Which we see many times during the night. Which we call stars breaking.
1 ️According to scientists, if a meteorite body which is smaller than 25 meters and enters the Earth's atmosphere, there is very little chance that it will do any harm by reaching the surface.
2 ️And if a meteorite body of size between 25 meters to 1 kilometer hits the earth, then its effect can be seen on the whole city.
3 If there is a body which is more than 2 kilometers in size , then its effects will be visible on the whole earth.
For example, according to scientists, 66 million years ago, when a meteorite of 10 kilometers in diameter collided with the earth, the dinosaurs came to an end. So it released a billion times more energy than an atomic bomb, due to which all the living beings around it were burnt to ashes. And the rest of the dinosaurs that survived later became extinct due to the increase in the temperature of the earth and its effects.
So you can understand how dangerous a large sized meteorite can be
