EYE OF GOD

The image shared was captured by the Spitzer space telescope in infrared, showcasing the Helix Nebula (NGC 7293), located 'merely' 700 light-years away from Earth in the direction of the Aquarius constellation. The dust and gas extend a whopping two light-years around the central white dwarf star. Spitzer's data shows that this very central star of the nebula is bathed in a surprisingly bright infrared glow.

Models suggest that this glow is produced by a debris disc of dust.
